I rented what I thought was a beautiful Mediterranean villa for my vacation. Instead, I arrived to find a cold, humid, poorly maintained house infested with stray cats and dangerous electrical hazards. This is my documented evidence of vacation rental fraud.

The property advertised was completely misrepresented. Here are the major problems discovered:
These are the photos from the rental listing - a beautiful, clean, modern Mediterranean villa with spacious rooms, pool views, and all amenities working perfectly.
This is what we found upon arrival. The property was in a state of severe neglect, with dangerous conditions that made it uninhabitable. These photos were taken immediately upon arrival.
The entire house reeked of humidity. Walls and ceilings showed extensive water damage with bubbling, peeling, and cracking paint - a health hazard indicating mold issues.
Multiple electrical fixtures were damaged, exposed, or non-functional - presenting serious safety hazards.
The property was freezing cold with no functioning heating system. Radiator connections were damaged and leaking.
Bathrooms were in poor condition with mold in grout, dirty surfaces, and cheap fixtures.
The property was overrun with stray cats roaming freely. This was never mentioned in the listing and presents hygiene concerns.
General neglect was visible throughout - worn closets, chipped paint, and an overall state of disrepair.
The property advertised bears no resemblance to what was delivered. This documentation serves as evidence for dispute resolution and to warn other travelers.
Do not rent this property. The listing photos are either from a different property or taken years ago before the property fell into complete disrepair.
